Day 01: Arrival in Meru – Gateway to Kenya’s Wilderness
Your safari adventure begins upon arrival at Meru National Park. Depending on your flight or road transfer, you’ll be met and taken to your lodge. Settle in and enjoy lunch while taking in Meru’s lush landscapes. In the afternoon, embark on a gentle game drive to spot elephants, lions, leopards, and abundant wildlife. The park’s rivers, kopjes, and savannah plains provide a dramatic backdrop for your first encounter with Kenya’s wild. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 02: Full Day in Meru – Wildlife & Nature
Spend a full day exploring the diverse ecosystems of Meru National Park. Begin with an early morning game drive as predators stir and herbivores graze. After breakfast, take a guided nature walk along the Tana River or near your lodge. Afternoon game drives offer more opportunities to see rhinos, giraffes, buffaloes, and hippos. The park’s birdlife is spectacular, with over 300 species recorded. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 03: Meru to Samburu National Reserve
After breakfast, drive north into Samburu National Reserve, famous for its arid landscapes, red soil, and unique northern wildlife. Check into your camp and enjoy lunch. Spend the afternoon on your first Samburu game drive along the Ewaso Nyiro River, looking for the “Special Five”: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and gerenuk. Sundowners along the river and dinner complete the day.
Day 04: Full Day in Samburu – Culture & Wildlife
Wake early for a sunrise game drive in Samburu National Reserve. Observe elephants, lions, leopards, and rare northern species in the morning light. After lunch and rest, visit a Samburu village to learn about their beadwork, traditions, and pastoral lifestyle. Return for an evening game drive or relax at camp before dinner under the African stars.
Day 05: Samburu to Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, head south to Lake Nakuru National Park, set within the Rift Valley escarpment. Arrive for lunch and an afternoon game drive along the lakeshore and forested areas. Lake Nakuru is home to flamingos, rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, lions, and zebras. Capture stunning photography opportunities in this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 06: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, journey to Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya’s most celebrated wildlife destination. Arrive at your safari camp for lunch. In the afternoon, take your first game drive across the endless Mara plains. Lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and antelopes abound. Evening sundowners and dinner at camp complete the day.
Day 07: Full Day in Masai Mara – Big Cats & Plains
Spend a full day exploring the Mara’s vast ecosystem. Sunrise game drive offers prime sightings of predators and wildlife activity. Enjoy breakfast in the bush or return to camp. Afternoon drives or optional activities, such as hot-air balloon safaris, allow you to experience the Mara’s diverse habitats. Dinner and overnight at your camp.
Day 08: Masai Mara – Maasai Culture & Safari
Another day in the Mara for wildlife and cultural immersion. Visit a Maasai village to witness traditional dances, ceremonies, and daily life. Picnic in the bush or enjoy an afternoon game drive. Evening bonfire, sundowners, and dinner under the starlit sky.
Day 09: Masai Mara to Lake Naivasha
Depart for Lake Naivasha after breakfast. Upon arrival, enjoy a peaceful boat ride to spot hippos, fish eagles, and other birdlife. Later, embark on a walking safari on Crescent Island, home to giraffes, zebras, and antelopes. Evening dinner and overnight at lakeside lodge.
Day 10: Lake Naivasha to Amboseli National Park
Travel south to Amboseli National Park, renowned for elephant herds with Mount Kilimanjaro as a backdrop. Arrive for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive across marshlands and open plains. Capture the iconic scenery of elephants against Africa’s tallest peak. Dinner and overnight at lodge.
Day 11: Full Day in Amboseli – Elephants & Kilimanjaro Views
Begin the day with a sunrise game drive in Amboseli. Spot elephants, lions, hyenas, giraffes, and diverse bird species. Return for lunch and enjoy a guided nature walk or relaxation at your lodge with panoramic views of Kilimanjaro. Sunset photography and dinner complete the day.
Day 12: Amboseli to Nairobi – Departure
After breakfast, depart for Nairobi, enjoying the scenic Rift Valley landscapes along the way. Upon arrival, transfer to the airport for your onward flight or spend an extra night in the capital. Depart Kenya with unforgettable memories of wildlife, culture, and nature.
