Discover Kenya on foot and by vehicle, in a low-impact journey through national parks, lakes, and community lands....
Book / ViewMeru National Park, located in central Kenya, is a hidden gem known for its rich wildlife, scenic landscapes, and unspoiled wilderness. This 3-day Safari offers an exciting mix of game drives, birdwatching, and relaxation while immersing yourself in the beauty of this diverse park.
Your adventure begins with an early morning departure from Nairobi, heading towards Meru National Park, a journey of approximately 5-6 hours. Arriving around midday, check in at your booked lodge or camp. After a refreshing lunch and some rest, embark on your first game drive in the afternoon. This drive offers an opportunity to spot diverse wildlife, including elephants, lions, cheetahs, and the endangered Grevy’s zebra. The park is known for its scenic landscapes, ranging from open plains and acacia woodlands to riverine forests. As the sun sets, return to your lodge or camp for your Dinner and overnight.
Rise early for a sunrise game drive when the animals are most active. Witness predators like lions and leopards hunting, while giraffes, buffalos, and antelopes roam the park. After a hearty bush breakfast or a return to the lodge for a morning meal, set out for a full-day exploration of the park. Visit the numerous rivers, such as the Tana, Rojewero, and Ura, which sustain a variety of bird species, crocodiles, and hippos. An optional visit to the Rhino Sanctuary can be arranged at an extra cost, where you can observe both black and white rhinos in a protected environment. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot before continuing with an afternoon game drive, exploring the park’s rich biodiversity. As the day ends, head back to your lodge for Dinner and overnight.
On your final day, start with an optional early morning guided nature walk, allowing you to experience the park’s flora and fauna up close. Learn about medicinal plants and track animal footprints with the help of an experienced guide can be arranged at an extra cost. After breakfast, optional village visit at an extra cost can be arranged to a local Meru community to experience their culture, traditions, and way of life. Engage in traditional dances, interact with local artisans, and gain insight into their conservation efforts. By late morning, check out from your lodge or camp and begin the journey back to Nairobi, with a stop for lunch en route. Arrive in the city by late afternoon, marking the end of an unforgettable safari experience in one of Kenya’s most pristine national parks.
